RDFI Hosts Successful National Rubber Conference in Gbarnga

The Rubber Development Fund Inc. (RDFI) successfully hosted the National Rubber Conference on November 8-9, 2024, at the Gbarnga Administrative Building in Bong County. The event brought together key stakeholders in Liberia’s rubber sector, including farmers, processors, policymakers, and local and international experts.
The conference served as a platform for robust discussions, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative efforts to identify strategies for enhancing the rubber industry. Key topics included market stabilization, farmer support, and value chain improvement, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
During the event, stakeholders reached critical resolutions, including:
- Establishing a price stabilization committee to align local prices with international standards.
- Advocating for improved infrastructure, such as farm roads, to reduce transportation challenges for farmers.
- Encouraging lower production costs for processors to increase competitiveness.
- Promoting capacity-building programs to equip farmers with modern skills and techniques.
